What has always grasped me with Liam is the balance of emotion in their music. Even though the production is raw and adherent to a black metal style they manage to counteract it with an almost uplifting atmosphere. This is done by meshing in a great deal of Post-Rock and Jazz influence. At times they invoke subtle melancholy and nostalgia yet still stimulate positive emotion, making their work truly powerful. I always find myself returning to this album no matter my mood and I hope you can find the same pleasure in it.
